Educators, youth workers and youth leaders are invited to the DCYDE! national training which champions Digital Global Citizenship Education (D-GCE), sustainable development and the SDGs among young people across Europe by fostering transnational partnerships and transcultural collaboration.

This training is open to persons who work with youth between the ages of 15 and 30 (exceptions can be made for slightly younger participants to be included) and would be able to deliver some activities after the national training. The youths can be part of youth organisations, diaspora and migrant community leaders, or NGO activists.

The training participants will then facilitate and organise the youth activities, in partnership and in collaboration with another youth group (from anywhere around the world) on an SDG topic of their choice, resulting in a digital creative output produced by the youths.

The training is free of charge. Participants need to commit to all of the sessions as this is a programme and no session is a standalone.

The national training will focus on the following transferable skills and knowledge:

  • Getting to know ethical and safe digital platforms and tools;
  • Learning new methods for hybrid facilitation (both in-person and online);
  • Understanding better D-GCE;
  • Transformative education;
  • Learning how to facilitate youth activities that are youth-driven and youth-centric;
  • Creating safe spaces and understanding privilege and discrimination (even online);
  • Gender equality and digital safety;
  • Inclusive facilitation;
  • Project implementation.

Following the end of the training, the participants will become facilitators, equipped to start designing and implementing their own youth activity programme as part of the DCYDE! project. The aim of this training is to prepare educators, youth workers and youth leaders to facilitate transnational, online and digital based exchanges where two groups – one from Malta and one from another country – will work together to explore an SDG and
prepare a creative output (eg. digital cookbook, podcast…) based on their vision. This is a great opportunity for:

  • networking between facilitators from different countries;
  • youth meeting other youth from other parts of the world without travelling;
  • youth working to learn together in multicultural team environments;
  • youth researching topics and doing hands-on project tasks;
  • youth voicing their opinions, listening to their peers, and critically and creatively take action on a particular topic.

The co-responsibility of the activity programme will be shared between the local facilitator and their partner. These activities are live, collaborative and engaging. The activities can be implemented in either 2025 or 2026 (not later than May 2026).

There will be:

  • An enhancement of theoretical and practical approaches
  • Strengthening knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviours in digital tools and safety
  • Help in finding partners
  • A small budget for the activities and equipment needed
  • Digital support for the digital tools
  • An opportunity for some participants to attend a networking event in Poland in June 2026.

Applicants need to register by following this link by Wednesday 15th October 2025 COB (17:00).
