#heroes4SDGs: a ‘Glocal’ Youth Campaign for Social Justice

We need heroes. Join us.

We need to come together, today more
than ever, to make our voices heard as a strong, united society.

#heroes4SDGs is a social media campaign targeting young people, both in Malta and internationally, launched by Kopin (VO/0200) in an effort to promote the Sustainable Development Goals in an interactive and innovative way.

The campaign will be widely promoted among young people in Malta and through Kopin’s networks and partners in Europe and beyond.

Throughout the duration of the campaign, regular updates, infographics, data and videos about the Global Goals for Sustainable Development will be shared on the social media accounts of the project, thus enabling participants to learn about, reflect upon and promote individual, day-by-day and local activism to contribute to achieving the SDGs.

14333031_517342245123507_4563415724258787461_nTo go a step further, young people are encouraged to take photos of themselves and their friends symbolically engaging in an action related to the SDGs and post them on social media using the #heroes4SDG and tag our Facebook page or Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag. These will be reposted on Kopin’s social media.

Towards the end of the Maltese Presidency of the EU Council semester, an animated video about the campaign, including some of the best photos shared by young participants, will be published and widely distributed online.

The core message of the campaign is simple: our everyday actions can and do make a difference towards the realisation of a fairer and more sustainable world. The ambitious goals set out by the United Nation member states will be reached only if everyone is ready to do their part.

We need to act together and stand together for a fairer world, where social justice isn’t just a buzzword, but a tangible reality, everywhere.  The campaign is realised in the frame of the “E4C – Educating for change: Capitalising on the EU Presidency in Malta to raise awareness on Agenda 2030” project sub-granting scheme managed by SKOP, the Maltese NGDOs Platform.

Duration of the project: February 2017 – June 2017 (5 months)
