Kopin coordinated two photography-based projects this year and last. The projects named YEP! and YEeP! had similar a design but a slightly different impact.
The main activity of both was a short photography course facilitated by renowned photographer Darrin Zammit Lupi. Every participant was provided with a compact camera, which they were allowed to keep upon completion of the course.
At the end of the course, one piece of work by every participant was selected and printed. The collection was then exhibited at San Anton Palace and inaugurated in the presence of H.E. the President of Malta.
The first YEP! Project in 2016 involved 14 young people selected with the help of partners such as Centru Appogg, Inspire, Cottonera Youth Centre, Dr Joe Giordimaina (University of Malta) and the Santa Lucia Girls’ College;
YEep! In 2017 has seen the participation of 7 young people and 7 senior citizens who were asked to work together in order to foster intergenerational dialogue.
The project was a big success and the exhibition was running from Saturday 4th April to Friday 14th April 2017.
